Come and learn why Island Flavours was named, by Destination Canada
, as one of Canada's Signature Experiences! With inspiration from here and abroad, chef will take you on a delicious culinary journey through PEI’s local bounty- shellfish, beef, pork and, of course, PEI potatoes. Local products will be used in creating a flavourful menu that will include such things as; cooking a lobster like an Islander, incorporating seasonal fruit into recipes and enjoying all the seasonal vegetables we can find! Each participant will savour and go home with new skills to bring into your kitchen. Your day starts at the Culinary Institute of Canada, where we will meet and get some material for the day! We will then be whisked off to the local market to learn and pick up some local, fresh, ingredients to use during the day.
After our market shopping trip, we then make our way to, Liquid Gold, a local olive oil and vinegar tasting bar where you can sample and learn the importance of quality products. Our morning will finish off back at the Culinary Institute of Canada, where we'll get on our chef whites and head to the kitchen for an afternoon of cooking! Once our recipes are completed, we will make our way up the onsite Dining Room, overlooking the Charlottetown Harbour and enjoy your hard work, while you enjoy a glass of wine and savour the flavours of Prince Edward Island.
This camp starts at 9am and will finish up around 4pm. Price includes:Day experience, Transportation to/from the Culinary Institute to the local market and Liquid Gold tasting bar, Culinary Institute of Canada Chef coat, Chef hat, copies of the recipes you created that day, light lunch and your final meal, Complimentary glass of wine.
